Day 76: March 18, Deuteronomy 7-8

Deuteronomy 7-8:

7.2 - Isn't mercy good?

7.5 - What was the problem with the natives of the Promised Land?

7.6-8 - What is God's reasoning for choosing Israel?

7.9-10 - How does God interact with those who love Him? Those who hate Him?

7.12-16 - NOTE: I struggle with passages like these, but I think I'm starting to get a handle on them. I really believe what God is saying here is this, if you as a people are living completely perfect, sinless lives (which they won't and can't) then disease and sin will not have a place among you. I think (and I could be wrong) that disease and barrenness are not necessarily a sign of sinfulness among the person who is barren (look at Hannah in 1 Samuel for an example), but the sinfulness that exists among the people.

7.16 - Why is pity here a bad thing?

7.17-19 - What is God telling them here?

7.25-26 - Again, what is the real evil here?

8.2-6 - What was taught during the 40 years in the desert?

8.17 - What is this?

8.19 - What does idolatry bring?
