29.19 - How does this reminder serve us?
ReplyDeleteI think it's a reminder that Christianity is not a "get out of jail free" card. God has promised us protection, but He's also laid down boundaries. If we choose to violate those boundaries, we won't put our ultimate salvation at risk, but we will open ourselves up to all kinds of bad things that we can't presume upon God to protect us from. I'd say that in many cases, He'd go ahead and allow us to suffer those consequences in order to learn the lesson that Father really does know best!
