Verse 26:24 - "Why does Isaac need to hear this?"
ReplyDeleteI think Isaac needs some encouragement at this point. He's stayed in Gerar as the Lord commanded, but he can't seem to catch a break there. Granted, some of his troubles are the result of his own bad choices, as when he calls Rebekah his sister instead of his wife, but he seems to be more or less an innocent party in the land disputes of verses 12-22. I can see that he'd feel a bit down about being forced to move all the time, and God's reassurance comes just when it's needed the most.
Exactly!
