Ex. 4:1 What is Moses doing here? Does he have reason?
Verses 3:10-4:17 are an interesting conversation between God and Moses. Moses keeps trying to find reasons not to go to Pharaoh, and God keeps shooting his excuses down. In 4:13, I think Moses' true feelings come out: it's not that it he wants to obey but isn't sure how he'll pull it off, but rather that he just doesn't want to go. I can see why God gets mad at this point. He sort of concedes to Moses by giving him Aaron as a companion, but He still has the last word: Moses *will* to Pharaoh, just as God had commanded in the first place!

I think God is also proving to Moses that He is greater than any mob reaction to Moses' sin.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't thought about that. Good point!
